What is Dysport and what is involved in getting it?

By Esme Spence

Dysport became popular a few years back when it became apparent that it was beneficial in aiding the reduction of wrinkles. It does so by freezing the face, stopping the movement that would cause the wrinkle in the first place. It is a procedure that is bringing joy and youthfulness to thousands of people across the world. But what exactly is Dysport? This chemical is made from a Botulinum neurotoxin that was created for medical purposes but is safe for cosmetic use. It was made for treatment of an illness called Cervical Dystonia, an ailment that causes pain as a result of spasms of the muscles. Though effective medically, it is most popular as a combatant against wrinkles.

Dysport is THE way to fight against wrinkles and to prevent those that could come in the future. It is risk free so long as it is administered by a registered expert and will give dramatic results from the moment of it is administered. The full results will not show for two to four days and will continue to get better. This procedure is now available to all that wish to experience it, and it is on offer at various clinics, spas and salons across the nation.

If you were to walk into your local salon in Salt Lake City and ask for Dysport, it would probably be looked upon as a cosmetic procedure, but it was never intended for that purpose. It's wrinkle fighting abilities were merely a by-product of its original use, the treatment of Cervical Dystonia. This illness can cause spasms in the body leading to distortion of limbs and muscles, with resulting pain. As a neurotoxin, it is believed that this product works by blocking the sensory nerves that project the pain messages to the brain, as well as relaxing muscles. This makes patients less sensitive to pain. People who receive injections for this form of Dystonia see an improvement in their overall comfort and wellbeing.

Dysport could also be potentially useful for treating other ailments. Botox, a fellow wrinkle fighter, is used to treat hyperhidrosis, or excessive sweat and it may be possible that Dysport would do the same job, as both products work similarly. This is a syndrome that is usually treated with prescription anti-perspirants, sprays and roll-ons. This hasn't been proven to help long term, but the injections will balance out the problem and relieve the sufferer for months at a time.

One of the main benefits of booking into a spa in Salt Lake City and getting a treatment is that Dysport typically lasts about 4 months, with a longer o shorter life span depending on the patient in question. So it is cost effective and doesn't require constant re-injection. It is also sedation-free, so you don't have to waste vacation time on lengthy recovery or after care. You can drop in on for a session on a lunch break!

If you want to take enjoy the benefits of Dysport then contact a clinic or spa today. Also, ask about Botox!
